Objective To discuss the influence and the effect of intervertebral instability for occurrence and development of protrusion of intervertebral disc herniation and it with surgical operation or conservative treatment.

Methods 32cases of lumbar stenosis with lumbar spine instability and 21cases lumbar spondylolisis(I～III degrees)were treated with pedicle screw fixation combined with intervertebral fusion with one or two Telamon cages.
