植物形态：落叶攀缘木质藤本，有卷须，小叶与叶柄幼时均被灰褐色绒毛。叶互生，阔卵形或三角状卵形，有时具不明显3裂，长4~10厘米，宽4~9厘米，基部截形或浅心形，先端渐尖，边缘具不整齐粗大锯齿，表面有光泽，背面脉上初被丝状绵毛，后仅基部及脉腋有短柔毛与毛丛，叶柄长1~5.5厘米。花淡黄绿色，单性异株，圆锥花序与叶对生，长4~8厘米。萼片、花瓣均5片，花瓣顶端粘合，下部分离，雄蕊5枚，有退化雌蕊；雌花子房上位，2室，退化雄蕊5枚。浆果球形。熟时兰黑色。 生态分布：产我国黄河流域至南部各省；多生于山坡林边、路边、河畔灌丛中。村落附近常有生长。 药用部分：根、茎和果实供药用；夏秋采收。 用途：性味甘、平。作强壮剂，能补五脏，续筋骨，长肌肉，果实可食，并造果酒。
