英国议会制定的适用于英国陆军及其配属部队、在陆军基地和营区内工作的文职雇员的基本军事法律。原称《兵变法》，1881年改称《陆军法》。1955年议会对该法进行了较大幅度的修改和扩充，确定了现行《陆军法》的基本框架和内容。共224条，6个附件。其有效期为5年。通过《武装部队法》不断延长其法律效力。主要内容包括，该法的适用范围、有效期限、特别授权、军事刑法及军事司法程序等。该法规定，授权国防大臣及国防部国防参议会在募兵制度、军事司法程序以及征用民房、民用交通工具的标准及租金等方面以立法权；授予陆军以募兵权和在特定情况下征用民用交通工具和民房的权力；授予一定级别的指挥官召集军事法庭、对违犯军纪和军法的人员进行审判和处罚的权力；规定了53条罪名和从死刑到警告的12种处罚方法，并规定了指挥官对违纪、违法军人行使简易处罚的权限和程序；对犯罪军人的追捕、调查和起诉程序；军事法庭的分类、组成、召集、管辖范围和开庭程序；对军事法庭判决的确认及复审程序；判决的执行等。
