Enterprise-wide PACS addresses the increasing demand of sharing image-related information throughout the healthcare enterprise, and subsequently directly supporting patient care at the clinical departments.

Methods The author applied the standpoint of software engineering, and used the experience of other enterprises to find a fast, low-cost, well-maintainable, well-expansible way in development of enterprise-Web PACS.
