为棕榈科植物蒲葵的叶、种子或根。
【植物形态】
蒲葵 大乔木，高可达20米。干有密接环纹。叶大，阔肾状扇形，直径达1米以上，深裂至中部以下而为多数2裂的裂片，裂片披针形，先端下垂；叶柄长，平凸状，下部有逆刺2列。圆锥花序长，疏散而广歧，生于叶腋内；佛焰苞棕色，筒状、革质、2裂；花小，淡绿色，无柄，长约2毫米；萼与花冠分裂几至基部；雄蕊6，花丝合生成一环；子房上位，3心皮。核果椭圆形或矩圆形，状如橄榄，长约1.8厘米，熟时黑色。花期春、夏。 栽于庭园或宅旁。分布我国南部。

【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，2～3钱；或煅存性研末。外用：煅存性研末撒。
【选方】
治疗各种癌症：葵树子(干品)一两。水煎一至二小时服。或与瘦猪肉炖服。(广州部队《常用中草药手册》)
