一般造成原发性脑干损伤的暴力常较重,多与脑挫裂伤同时存在,如伴有颅内血肿、脑挫裂伤脑水肿或脑肿胀产生小脑幕切迹疝时,即可引起继发性脑干损伤,可导致脑干的缺血坏死,后果严重。其临床表现有意识障碍、瞳孔和眼球运动变化、去脑强直、交叉性瘫、生命体征变化及内脏症状等。
