常用针灸穴位。属手阳明大肠经，是原穴。因拇指、食指两骨相合凹下处如谷，故名。又是手阳明与手太阴脉衔接处。国际标准代号为LI4。
定位 在手背第一、二掌骨间约平第二掌骨中点处，当虎口歧骨间凹陷中。
取穴 ①以一手的拇指指骨关节横纹放在另一手的拇、食指之间的指蹼缘上，曲指，当拇指端尽处是穴。②拇、食指并拢，两指间尾纹旁肌肉高起处，约尾纹旁上3～5分。
刺灸法 针尖向手心刺0.5～1寸，特殊需要时，针尖也可向后溪方向刺入2～3寸；可灸。
功用 行气止痛(阳明经多气少血，而原气由此进入，故对气的影响比较大)。
主治 头痛，牙痛，喉痹，腹痛。
