In the trial,MTT methods was applied to examine cytotoxic activity of dandelion extract in vitro on mouse macrophages after stimulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS),the objective was to determine the dose of non-cytotoxicity,meanwhile nitric oxide (NO) release in LPS-stimulated macrophages was determined by Griess method to provide a basis for further study.

The bacteria-inhibiting ingredients in Taraxacum herb were extracted by 3 methods of water extraction at normal temperature,decocting water extraction and ethanol extracting.
