性质:是瘤细胞在生长过程中分泌的一组多肽类物质,因此可从瘤细胞株的培养液中提取它,也可从实体瘤组织中直接提取。TGF能促使瘤细胞自身迅速生长,因为它能与表皮生长因子(EGF)竞争受体,也就是说,肿瘤细胞本身具有结合这类多肽的受体。这就形成了一个阳性反馈系统,即瘤细胞分泌的TGF与瘤细胞自身受体结合,这种结合导致瘤细胞无法控制生长。TGF能使一些非转化指示细胞发生表型转化,生长接触抑制消失,导致在软琼脂上形成集落。TGF分子量6~25kD,依其与EGF竞争膜细胞受体结合点的能力不同及使正常指示细胞表型转化的程度不一,可分为三类:α-TGF, β-TGF及γ-TGF。
