【来源】
为堇菜科植物瓮菜癀的全草。
【植物形态】
瓮菜癀 一年生草本。根弯曲，如鼠尾，末尾尖。茎细而弯曲，匍匐状，长12～30厘米，生有毛茸，幼嫩者毛茸更多。根生叶具长柄，长6～7.5厘米，有茸毛；叶片长3～6厘米，宽2.5～4厘米，先端短尖，腰部渐阔，基部心形而开阔。两侧稍呈圆耳状，全缘，有毛茸，以叶缘及叶脉较多。茎生叶互生，排列稀疏，顶端叶片较小，向下渐大，叶柄亦渐长。 生长于原野。分布我国南部。
【性味】
甘，寒。
【功用主治】
清热，解毒，散结。治疔疮，瘰疬。
【选方】
①治疔疮：瓮菜癀和红糖、冷饭及蜗牛七粒，捣烂敷患处，或单用鲜草捣烂外敷。 ②治瘰疬：瓮菜癀鲜根一两五钱(干者七钱)，瘦肉二两。同炖服。
