性质:无色针状结晶。熔点129℃。溶于醇和水,微溶于醚和苯。遇三氯化铁成红色溶液,在空气中易分解。

制备方法:由吡啶经磺化、碱熔、中和而得。将发烟硫酸加入干燥的反应锅内,搅拌下滴加吡啶,再加入硫酸汞。加热至230-240℃,保温13-14h。冷至20-25℃,加入乙醇中,继续冷至5℃以下,析出结晶。过滤,得吡啶-3-磺酸。熔点345℃,收率62%。将氢氧化钠及吡啶-3-磺酸加入反应锅内,在160℃熔融,升温至220-230℃保温4h。冷至100℃,加水溶解,用30%的盐酸调节pH至4,减压浓缩,过滤 除去氯化钠。滤液用饱和碳酸钠调节pH至8-9,冷却过滤,烘干,得3-羟基吡啶粗品,收率64%。用甲苯进行重结晶而得精品,熔点126-128℃,含量98%,精制收率80%。

用途:用作医药中间体。
