  骨质疏松的一种临床类型。其发病率可随年龄而增高,女性明显高于男性。主要由于老年性激素水平低下,蛋白质合成代谢减弱所致。骨基质形成不足,患者可有周身持续性骨痛,以脊柱、骨盆区及骨折处多见。机体活动明显受到障碍,可有不同程度的肌肉萎缩和脊椎压缩性骨折,从而引起身长可缩短,胸廓畸形,影响心肺功能。应采取针对病因同时对症的治疗措施。
