主要是损伤人体细胞和组织内的呼吸酶系的一类毒剂。又名血液中毒性毒剂(blood agents)。有氢氰酸和氯化氰。它进入机体后抑制细胞色素氧化酶，中断了细胞的氧化反应,造成全身性组织缺氧,特别是呼吸中枢易因缺氧而受到损伤，出现呼吸麻痹，严重时可致死。全身中毒性毒剂曾在第一次世界大战中使用过。氢氰酸是一种有苦杏仁味的无色液体，沸点25.7℃，易气化，吸入中毒，无潜伏期，中毒较重者可在几分钟内出现昏迷、痉挛和呼吸困难等症状，如不及时救治迅即死亡。氯化氰对眼和上呼吸道有强烈刺激，全身中毒症状与氢氰酸相似。全身中毒性毒剂可装填在炮弹、航空炸弹和火箭弹中使用，造成空气染毒。使用防毒面具即可对其有效地防护，亚硝酸异戊酯等为急救解毒药。
