【来源】
为桃金娘科植物水翁的树皮。植物形态详"水翁花"条。
【采集】
夏、秋采收。
【药材】
干燥树皮厚约1厘米，外被栓皮，除去栓皮，表面黄白色，皮部棕红色，纤维性，其间密布白色粉尘状物。易纵向撕裂成条，弹之即有粉尘飞出。
【性味】
辛，温。 ①《生草药性备要》："味徽酸辛，温。" ②《本草求原》："酸，平。"
【功用主治】
杀虫，止痒。治癣癞，烂脚，囊痈。 ①《生草药性备要》：'洗螆癞，杀虫。" ②《本草求原》："杀虫，洗癣癞，烂脚，浸疳疮。"
【用法与用量】
外用：煎水洗。
【选方】
治囊痈：水翁皮之二层，煎水洗十余次；如痈巳穿，加甘草节同煎。(《岭南采药录》)
