性质:无色粘稠液体,-20℃以下为玻璃状固体。熔点-20℃,沸点178℃(0.67kPa),157-158℃(0.267-0.333kPa),相对密度1.1030(20/4℃),折光率1.4766,闪点179℃。能与水、低级脂肪族醇、甘油混溶,部分溶于丙酮,不溶于苯和乙酸乙酯。

制备方法:由丙烯醛二聚物水解、加氢制得。

用途:用作聚酰胺脂增塑剂、烟草湿润剂、特种水力流体的溶剂和偶合剂。也是生产醇酸树脂。赛璐珞、聚氨酯和合成橡胶的原料。
