为心脏的原发性良性肿瘤，十分罕见，约1/4位于心肌肌壁内，其余则发生于心内膜下或外膜下。室壁内脂肪瘤体积均较小，很少有临床症状，发生于心内膜的脂肪瘤偶可波及心瓣膜口发生急性阻塞甚至梗死，肿瘤由分化成熟的脂肪细胞组成，伴有数量不等的心肌纤维的纤维结缔组织。
