| 草蜥属 Takydromus 蜥蜴目蜥蜴科的一属。头顶具对称排列的大鳞，背部起棱大鳞排成纵行，腹部大鳞近方形。尾易自截。体背绿褐色，腹面灰白色，体侧下方绿色。体细长，约50～60毫米，尾为体长的两倍以上。世界已知约10种，分布于越南、缅甸、印度尼西亚、日本、朝鲜及西伯利亚。中国有6种，主要分布于华中、华南及西南地区。北草蜥栖息于海拔180～1750米的丘陵、平原和山区的茂密草丛中或矮灌木林间，受到惊扰则迅速逃遁，以昆虫为食。
