The dynamic changes of gametocyte activating factor(GAF) activity in the salivary gland extracts were compared between non-blood-fed and blood-fed male Anopheles stephensi post-emergence by in vitro exflagellation assay of Plasmodium berghei in order to investigate the rise and fall of GAF in the salivary glands of Anopheles stephensi during growth and development.

疟原虫 Plasmodium 原生动物门孢子纲真球虫目疟原虫科疟原虫属的通称。已记载100余种,寄生于爬行类、鸟类和哺乳类的血细胞中(在两栖类中只有少数报告)。寄生于人的疟原虫可引起人的周期性的发冷发热,称疟疾。 疟原虫的生活史中有两种寄主,脊椎动物为终寄主,蚊为中间寄主(又称媒介)。寄生于人的间日疟原虫的生活史可分3个时期:①裂体生殖。在人体中进行,使患者最初出现寒战继而发高热。②配子生殖。从人体开始,在蚊胃完成。③孢子生殖。在蚊体中进行。 公认的寄生于人体的疟原虫有4种,即间日疟原虫、恶性疟原虫、卵形疟原虫和三日疟原虫。以间日疟原虫和恶性疟原虫流行最广,在亚、非、拉为害最烈。疟疾在中国的分布很广。是中国五大寄生虫病之一。
