| 赤峰市 位于中国内蒙古自治区东部。赤峰因市区北部有一座红山而得名。东、东南与哲里木盟和辽宁省朝阳市毗邻，西南与河北省接壤，西和北部与锡林郭勒盟相连。面积8.4万平方千米，1990年人口410.58万，其中蒙古族67.7万，其他少数民族14.7万。辖巴林左旗、巴林右旗、阿鲁科尔沁旗、翁牛特旗、喀喇沁旗、敖汉旗、克什克腾旗、林西县、宁城县7旗、2县。战国时期属东胡。清乾隆四十三年（1778)置赤峰县，光绪三十二年（1906)升为直隶州。1946年热北专署改为昭乌达盟。1956年将原热省辖部分旗县并入昭乌达盟划属内蒙古自治区。1983年撤销昭乌达盟，设立赤峰市，实行市管县体制。赤峰市为附近粮食、牲畜、毛皮、药材集散地。工业有煤炭、制药、造纸、皮革、化学、机械等。农业以产谷子、高粱、玉米为主。 |
