怀牛膝
牛膝（亦称怀牛膝），苋科，系多年生草本植物。又称山苋菜、对节菜、积名牛茎。根呈园柱形，茎有棱角，节部膨大，状似牛的膝盖，故称牛膝。
牛膝，在四州、湖北、陕西等省均有生产，但怀牛膝质量最佳，数量也居全国之首，1959年，曾占全国总产量的46％。
怀牛膝的特点是：条子粗壮、明亮、色泽鲜艳、油性多。
怀牛膝药效高，李时珍说它：'滋补之功，如牛之力。'牛膝气味苦酸平，主治寒湿痿痹、四肢拘挛，膝痛不可屈伸，逐血气，伤热火烂，久服轻身耐老。博爱的牛膝，长于补益肝肾，强腰膝以及活血、引血小行的作用。博爱县常年的种植面积为400-500亩，亩产干货500-600斤，最高的达800斤。年收购量25万斤左右。牛膝适宜于沙土和两合土。沙土的牛膝，颜色好、白亮，而炉土的则发黑。牛膝收获时，将根茬取出，晒半干后捆成小把，按个大小挑选，分头肥、二肥、平条三种，头肥4-6根一斤，平条8-14根一斤。挑选后，加工泡制，削把晒干，装箱外运，销往全国各地。
