原虫
protozoon

  属单细胞动物,具有完整的生理功能,少数体内含有叶绿体,可以进行自养性的光合作用。在自然界,原虫以自生、共生或寄生的方式广泛生存于水、土壤、腐败物以及生物体内。进入人体的原虫分布在宿主腔道、体液或内脏组织中,有些是细胞内寄生的。原虫的体积微小,在光学显微镜上才能看清楚。原虫的致病作用主要是由于虫体大量增殖、虫株代谢物和崩解虫体的毒素作用、溶解作用和致敏作用。对人体能致病的如疟原虫、弓形虫、阿米巴等。
