出口红茶国际标准(international stan·dards of exPort blaek tea)国际标准化组织34技术委员会第8分支委员会TC34/SCS在60一70年代，经过茶叶生产国、消费国及茶叶贸易界研究后于1977年制订‘150 3720红茶规格”的标准。该标准每5年进行一次回顾和对其做出必要的修改。 1980年11月24一28日在津巴布韦首都索尔兹伯里召开的茶叶出口国会议，曾要求联合国贸发会议和核农组织秘书处对茶叶出口质皿标准问题进行工作，以估价应用国际标准化组织(I 50)所提出的茶叶标准的可能性及其有关问题。 为了更详细地阐明改进茶叶品质标准的方法，粮农组织秘书处通知了19个茶叶出口国家，要求它们提供本国的红茶规格是否与国际标准化组织的标准3720红茶规格相似的材料，以便概括其共同结果，作进一步的补充，打算列入国际茶叶协定的讨论中，一方面限制低于标准茶叶的交易，另一方面作为提高茶叶在消费者心目中的形象，以刺激需求量，作为配合国际上限额出口等措施的一个手段，达到提高国际茶叶价格的目的。 1503720红茶规格，己经被印度、斯里兰卡、肯尼亚、土耳其、伊朗、澳大利亚、奥地利、墨西哥、比利时、新西兰、捷克斯洛伐克、波兰、埃及、葡萄牙、法国、罗马尼亚、联邦德国、南非、加纳、匈牙利、泰国、英国、以色列、南斯拉夫等24个国家接受。印度、斯里兰卡为了与1503720取得一致，调整了红茶国家标准，由国家法令给予支持。
