The equipment, control system, technical requirements, operation mode and product quality of thin slab casting with liquid core reduction (LCR) are introduced.

In order to afford a basis for designing LCR segment roller apron and process in actual thin slab continuous casting, thin slab deformation and withdrawal and their variations during liquid core reduction in thin slab continuous casting were calculated based on mechanical theory.
