| 地转流 geostrophic current 在忽略湍流摩擦力作用的较深的理想海洋中，由海水密度分布不均匀所产生的水平压强梯度力与水平地转偏向力平衡时的海流。虽然它和埃克曼漂流都是理想化的海流，但都能近似地反映海水的一些运动规律。例如：较厚的大洋下层水中的海流，近似于地转流；在较薄的大洋上层水中，同时存在着地转流和埃克曼漂流。这两种流动同为大洋的基本流动。 要直接测量海洋的水平压强梯度力是很难的，但是可以引进地势的概念，间接加以计算。设想在较深海洋中的某水层，其等压面和地势面重合，则在这个面上的地转流的速度为零。称这个面为无运动面。等压面上相邻两点间的地势差，称为动力高度差。 实际上，要测定大范围海域中各点的流速是困难的，但要测定此海域中各点的海水比容是办得到的，而且由这些比容按动力计算法求得的地转流，又与较深海洋的下层海水的流动近似，故可以用这种海流的动力计算，代替较深层海流的测定。 |
