性质:分子式为CnH2n+1OH(n=12~13),羟值289mgKOH/g,水分(质量)小于0.1%,碘值0.1gI2/100g,羰值(C—C=O)0.008%(质量),酸值<0.1mgKOH/g,相对密度0.832,熔点17~19℃,初馏点265℃,终馏点280℃,闪点(PMOC)132℃。偶碳与奇碳并存的醇、直链度70%~85%(随原料、催化剂而异),由Cll—C12烯烃与CO、H2经羰基反应制得。用途很广泛,可作溶剂,浮选剂和消泡剂等。经SO3(或氯磺酸)硫酸化,NaOH中和,生成阴离子表面活性剂——脂肪醇硫酸钠;与环氯乙烷缩合生成非离子表面活性剂——脂肪醇醚;脂肪醇醚再硫酸化,经氯化钠中和,生成性能优异的脂肪醇醚硫酸钠,是表面活性剂主要原料。
