Promoted by indium, allylic and propargyl bromides react with diorganyl diselenides in THF to give allylic and propargyl selenides in moderate to good yields.

The reaction of ethynylmagnesium bromides with terminal alkynes afforded alkynyl Grignard reagents,which were reacted with arylselanyl bromides to give alkynyl selenides in good yields.

Allylic acetates were readily converted to corresponding allylic selenides by reduction with Pd-(PPh 3) 4-SmI 2 and subsequent treatment with arylselenenyl bromides.

In the presence of 4 MS, using N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) as solvent, a mixture of termi- nal acetylene, cesium hydroxide and element selenium was stirred under N2 atomsphere at room temperature for 2 h, then diaryliodonium salts were added and the resulting mixture was stirred at 0 ℃ for 30 h to give acetylenic selenides in about 60% yields .
