释会通。雍州万年御宿川人。少欣道检游泊林泉。苦节戒行是其顾习。投终南豹林谷。潜隐综业。读法花经至药王品。便欣厌舍。私集柴木誓必行之。以贞观末年。静夜林中积薪为窟。诵至药王便令下火。风惊焰发烟火俱盛。卓尔加坐声诵如故。寻尔西南有大白光流入火聚。身方偃仆。至晓身火俱灭。乃收其遗骨为起白塔。勒铭存焉。贞观之初。荆州有比丘尼姊妹。同诵法花。深厌形器。俱欲舍身。节约衣食钦崇苦行服诸香油渐断粒食。后顿绝谷惟啖香蜜。精力所被神志鲜爽。周告道俗。克日烧身。以贞观三年二月八日。于荆州大街置二高座。乃以蜡布缠身至顶。惟出面目。众聚如山。歌赞云会。诵至烧处。其姊先以火柱妹顶。请妹又以火柱姊顶。清夜两炬一时同耀。焰下至眼。声相转明。渐下鼻口方乃歇灭。恰至明晨合坐洞举。一时火花。骸骨摧朽。二舌俱存。合众欣嗟。为起高塔。近并州城西有一书生。年二十四五。诵法华经誓烧供养。乃集数束蒿干笼之。人问其故。密而不述。后于中夜放火自烧。及人往救火盛已死。乃就加柴薪尽其形荫。近有山僧善导者。周游寰寓求访道津。行至西河遇道绰部。惟行念佛弥陀净业。既入京师广行此化。写弥陀经数万卷。士女奉者其数无量。时在光明寺说法。有人告导曰。今念佛名定生净土不。导曰。念佛定生。其人礼拜讫。口诵南无阿弥陀佛声声相次出光明寺门。上柳树表。合掌西望。倒投身下。至地遂死。事闻台省。
