自动控制容器中液位的阀门。它安装在容器的进液或出液口处，利用浮子（通常为一空心浮球）在容器中的浮起或下降带动阀瓣动作，通过调节进出容器的流量使容器保持一定的液位。图中的阀门是控制流体进口流量的浮球调节阀。当液面低于规定值时，浮子下降使阀瓣开启，液体流入容器中，液面随之升高。当液面上升到规定液位时，浮子浮起使阀瓣关闭，液体停止流入。这种阀门多用于低压容器的液位控制。
