有关制革工程方面的专著。美国F.奥弗莱厄蒂、W.T.罗迪和R.M.洛拉尔主编。1956～1965年由纽约莱恩霍尔特出版公司出版。20世纪40年代后期，对蛋白质特别是胶原及其性能的研究获得进展。为了将胶原组织结构等方面的研究成果与生产实践结合起来，加速制革生产工业化的进程，作者在综述和总结大量论文的基础上编撰了此书。该书主编均为美国辛辛那提大学皮革基础科学研究系（美国制革工业同业公会创设）教授，书中各个章节均由著名学者撰写。全书按课题分为4卷:卷Ⅰ论述鞣制前的准备（1～14章）,1956年出版；卷Ⅱ论述各种鞣制法（15～30章），1958年出版；卷Ⅲ论述皮革质量的程序控制（31～49章）,1962年出版;卷Ⅳ论述革的评价（50～64章），1965年出版。《皮革化学与工艺学》的特点是理论与实用并重。
