性质:将太阳能(或光能)、热能及核能不通过化学反应,直接转化为电能的装置。主要有太阳能电池,温差发动器、热离子发电器及核电池等,但不包括磁流体、原子能反应堆等大型装置。其特点是输出直流电、储存寿命长,能长期连续使用,但输出功率一般较低,成本及较高。其中太阳能电池(solar cell)最为常见,这是利用半导体(如硅片)的pn结受阳光辐射时能扑捉光子,使之转化为电能。但能量转化效率只百分之十几,价格很贵,民用受到限制。
