    主要赋存在松散沉积物颗粒间孔隙中的地下水。在堆积平原和山间盆地内的第四纪地层中分布广泛。是工农业和生活用水的重要供水水源。孔隙水的分布、补给、径流和排泄决定于沉积物的类型、地质构造和地貌等。不同成因的沉积物中 ,存在着不同的孔 隙水 。在山前地带形成的洪积扇内,近山处的卵砾石层中有巨厚的孔隙潜水含水层;到了平原或盆地内部,由于砂砾层与粘土层交互成层 ,形成承压孔隙水含水层 。在平原河 流的中 、下游地区的河床 相的砂砾层中,存在着宽度和厚度不大的带状孔隙水含水层。在湖泊成因的岸边缘相的粗粒沉积物中,多形成厚而稳定的层状孔隙水含水层。在冰川消融水搬运分选而形成的冰水沉积物中,有透水性较好的孔隙水含水层。深层孔隙承压水往往远离补给区。离补给区越远,补给条件越差,补给量有限,故深层孔隙承压水的开采应有所节制。
