性状 又名聚乙氧基三油酸清凉茶醇、吐温-85。琥珀色油状液体，有脂肪气味。密度1.00-1.05g/cm3。粘度200-400mPas。在硬水、稀酸、稀碱中能分散。溶于油类及大多数有机溶剂。不溶于丙酮、乙二醇。加热到200℃时不挥发。具有优良的乳化性和分散性。
皂化值 83～98mgKOH/g HLB值 11.0
羟值 40～60 mgKOH/g 酸值 《2mg KOH/g
生产方法 主要采用加成法。以失水山梨醇三油酸酯和环氧乙烷为原料，在氢氧化钠催化剂存在下，进行加成反应而得。
用途 非离子型表面活性剂。主要用作膏霜类和乳液类化妆品的油包水型乳化剂。也可用作增稠剂和分散剂。
