性质:一种气体电极。电极反应为2H++2eH2,以铂黑作为催化剂易达平衡。电势稳定,适用于全部PH值范围,是PH值测量的基准指示电极。氢电极在氯碱工业、电解水制取氢气或分离氢同位素以及研制燃料电池等方面有广泛的应用。由于氢的阴极过程是酸性介质中金属腐蚀的主要共轭过程,故在金属防腐研究中也有重要意义。
