STUDY ON THE FACTORS OF INFLUENCING THE PROPERTIES OF PAO WITH VARIANCE ANALYSIS;

The market demand of poly-α-olefin(PAO) in synthetic oils was one of the fastest growing,the PAO synthetic lubricants not only have the advantage of lower volatility,higher viscosity index,lower pour point,higher flash point and excellent high temperature anti-oxidation performance,but also have long use life compared with mineral oils.

As the regulation of lubricants is becoming more and more strict, demand of high quality lubricating oils is increasing, among which most distinctly is synthetic oil, especially poly-α-olefin synthetic oil.

By employing orthogonal design L9(33),effects of polymerization temperature,catalyst quantity and reaction time on the conversion of olefins and the viscosity of poly-α-olefin lubricating base oil were studied.

The air compressor oils of reciprocating type were developed by taking polyalphaolefin(PAO)/API Group Ⅱ and/or Ⅲ base oils from hydrocracking process and ester-based synthetic fluids as base oils,and adding proper rust & oxidation inhibitors,anti-wear additive and metal deactivator.

Comparing with mineral oil, Poly-Alpha-Olefins(PAO)offer a lot of advantages including better viscosity-temperature coefficient, lower pour point, higher viscosity index, excellent heat anti- oxidation etc and are thus widely recognized.

The process of taking PAO as base oil and adding domestic additives to formulate the premium rolling oils for aluminum was described,and the results of cold rolling mill test was given.

Aiming at the problems in the old process for poly α-olefins(PAO)production,the new process using immobilized AlCl3 as catalyst was introduced and the factors affecting PAO yield were studied.

The anti-wear and friction-reducing properties of the Cu nanoparticle as additives in polymerized alpha olefin(PAO) synthetic oil was evaluated by SRV friction test machine.
