In this paper, based on discrete distribution of non-broken filament length of cocoon, we derived its continuous distribution, that is a distribution of lifetime, and the mean value and variance, with the hypotheses that the ratio of dropping end has continuorsly distributed form on cocoon filament.

竺长舒，亦天竺人也。晋初内徙居于吴，奉法精至，尤虔诵观世音经。比邻失火，长舒家在下风，敕家人不得动，唯一心念观世音，顷之火忽自熄，有诸少年心怪之，后一夕密束炬掷其屋，四掷皆灭，乃大惊以为神，各走还家。明晨相率诣长舒，稽颡谢，自说昨事。长舒曰：“我无神力，止念观世音力耳。诸君但当洗心信向，毋自恐也。”于是乡里间咸知奉法(辨正论)
