氯化离析的简称,实质上是氯化焙烧-还原过程（见氯化冶金）。对难于直接用物理选矿方法选别的有色金属氧化矿石可用此过程进行预处理。往矿石中加少量的氯化物（氯化钠或氯化钙）和还原剂（煤或焦炭）；在焙烧炉中加热焙烧。氯化钠与水蒸气反应产生HCl,后者将金属氧化物（如氧化铜）氯化，生成金属氯化物 (如Cu3Cl3)。金属氯化物被氢气(碳与水蒸气作用产生)还原成金属粒子〔如Cu3Cl3+(3/2)H2＝3Cu+3HCl〕。沉积于碳粒上，用浮选法回收，得到高品位精矿。一些能生成较稳定的、容易被还原成金属的挥发性金属氯化物，如：Cu、Ni、Co、Pb、Sn、Sb、Bi、Ti、Au与Ag等，有可能适用离析法处理，但目前在生产上只用于处理难选氧化铜矿石。
