性质:CO和CO2在催化剂作用下深度加氢生成甲烷和水的反应称为甲烷化。合成氨原料中氧或任何含氧化合物都能使氨合成的融铁催化剂中毒,由低温变换送来的氮氢混合气通常含有不到1%的CO和CO2,中小型工厂用铜氨液洗涤吸收除去。大型厂都采用甲烷化,它具有工艺过程简单,设备投资少和消耗定额低的优点。催化剂一般用NiO-Al2O3。城市煤气制造也使用甲烷化过程,以降低煤气中CO含量,减少煤气中毒可能,并可提高热值。
