经纬仪 theodolite 测量水平角和竖直角的仪器。1730年英国机械师西森发明。1920年德国制成第一台光学经纬仪。60年代出现了电子经纬仪。70年代制成电子速测仪。经纬仪的主要部件有望远镜、水平度盘、竖直度盘、水准器、读数设备、基座。测角时,将仪器整置于测站点上,借助水准器引导仪器垂直轴与测站铅垂线一致,用望远镜照准目标,利用水平度盘和竖直度盘测定水平角和竖直角。经纬仪按精度分为精密经纬仪和普通经纬仪;按读数设备分为游标经纬仪、光学经纬仪和电子经纬仪;按轴系分为复测经纬仪和方向经纬仪。常用的是光学经纬仪。此外,还有一些具有特殊功能的经纬仪,如视距经纬仪、陀螺经纬仪、激光经纬仪、摄影经纬仪、电影经纬仪。
