性质:又名石盐,矿盐。钠盐矿的主要矿物组分之一。含钠39.34%、氯60.66%。等轴晶系,晶体呈立方体,通常呈粒状或块状集合体。纯者无色透明或呈白色,常因含杂质而呈灰、黄、红、蓝或黑褐色等。玻璃光泽,风化面呈油脂光泽。硬度2~2.5,密度2.16g/cm3。易溶于水,味咸。吸湿性强,易潮解。常产于气候干旱的内陆盆地、泻湖和海湾沉积物中。以其硬度、晶形、味咸、易镕于水为鉴定特征。主要用作食用盐及食物防腐剂,也是制碱、盐酸和氯气等的原料,还可用于提炼金属钠。
