In diluted H2SO4 medium which was heated to 85 ℃,the discoloration reaction of potassium periodate oxidizing methylene blue can be greatly catalyzed by Ruthenium(Ⅲ),and based on this phenomenon,a new method for the determination of Ruthenium(Ⅲ) by catalytic kinetic spectrophotometry was established.
