性质:又称巢菜碱苷。针状结晶(由水或85%乙醇中结晶)。熔点239~242℃(无水物,分解)。旋光度-12°(c=10);针状结晶(由水中结晶),分解温度为243~244℃。旋光度-11.7°(c=3.9,0.2mol/L氢氧化钠);无色针状结晶(由水中结晶),熔点248~250℃(分解),旋光度[α]D25-17°(c=1.12,水)。1g约溶于100ml水,微溶于乙醇,易溶于稀酸或稀碱。存在于豆科植物蚕豆(Vicia faba L.)的种子,巢菜(V. sativa L.)的种子中。具有降低红细胞中葡萄糖-6-磷酯脱氢酶的作用,引发以溶血性贫血为特征的蚕豆病。具有抗心律失常作用。喂食动物可抑制动物自然生长。
