The ecology geological environment in Caoyuanshiyanzhan area is very vulnerable with severe hazards such as soil erosion, land sanded and water deteriorated.

Based on the monitoring data on water quantity and water quality from two small river basin experimental stations in west mountainous areas of Xingtai City, an analysis is made on some factors affecting the water quality under conditions of different river basins, different covers, and different underlying surfaces.
