    分子式C3H6O，分子量58.08。亦称氧化丙烯或甲基环氧乙烷。无色液体，有乙醚气味。极易燃烧。熔点-112.13℃，沸点为34.23℃。密度（20/4℃）0.859g/cm3。能与乙醇和乙醚混溶。能与水反应开环生成1.2-丙二醇。在磷酸锂催化剂作用下，能异构化成丙烯醇。主要用来制备丙二醇和泡沫塑料，也用作醋酸纤维素、硝酸纤维素和多种树脂的溶剂。可由1-氯丙醇或2-氯丙醇与氢氧化钙作用制得。
