用粘结剂把磨料粘附在可挠曲的基体(布或纸等)上制成的磨具。涂附磨具有张页状（矩形）、圆片状、环带状和其他特殊形状（见彩图），主要品种有砂布（纸）和砂带,常以机械或手工作业方式使用,广泛用于金属材料、木材、陶瓷、塑料、皮革、橡胶以及油漆腻子等非金属材料的磨削、抛光和打磨。涂附磨具由磨料、粘结剂和基体3部分组成(见图)。常用的磨料是人造磨料如刚玉、碳化硅和玻璃砂等，有时也用天然磨料如石榴石和天然刚砂等。粘结剂有皮胶、骨胶、干酪素胶和合成树脂胶等。基体有布、纸和布纸复合材料等。涂附磨具的制造过程一般包括基体处理、涂底胶、植砂、再涂胶（覆胶）、干燥和裁切成形。
