释允若字季蘅号浮休因云门之傍有若耶溪后又号若耶。郡之相里人。年九岁能通春秋大义。父母钟爱之。稍长翛然有绝尘之趣。遂依云门元和尚。十五祝发为大僧。随渡涛江。首谒大山恢法师于杭之兴福。山授以天台四教仪金錍十不二门指要钞诸书。一览而知大旨。闻湛堂主南竺往依焉。凡法智所结立阴观别理随缘六即蛣蜣理毒性具等文靡不精究。至于思清之兼业昭圆之异说齐润之党邪仁岳之背正。亦皆察其非是。于是湛堂甚器重之俾司宾客。元至治初湛堂奉诏入燕都校大藏。因奏若之行业锡以慈光圆照之号。即命出住昌源净圣院。其院颇颓弊。乃力为经度。田芜者辟之。室圮者葺之。三年遂成巨刹。湛堂复招之。徕归命居第一座摄众规范。泰定中复出主杭之兴化。时与天岸济我庵无玉庭罕三公。道望并峙湖上。世称为钱塘四依。未几退居越之云门。又与断江恩休耕逸。临风吟咏不知夕阳在树。世又称为云门三高。至正住越之圆通迁上竺。其山旧有缨络泉涸久。若至持锡叩岩祷曰。苟吾缘在是泉当为我一来。不然则涸如故。言讫泉涌出渊冷渐盈。时户部尚书贡师泰称比慈云之重荣桧。命之曰再来泉。复退隐云门。筑精舍专修法华三昧为暮年净业。会天下大乱干戈纷扰。众欲拥若避去。若斥曰。难可苟免乎。吾对将至。待以酬之。众遁若独危坐。贼众入其舍。若毅然不为屈。辞色俱厉。贼首知为有道者约退。一贼独怒直前挥刃中之。白乳溢出于地。实元至正十九年二月二十九日也。世寿八十僧腊六十有五。贼退众归荼毗。舍利如菽无算。若平生风度简远不妄言笑。赵孟俯称为僧中御史。得法弟子集庆友奎演福良谨延庆如莹隆德法让净圣圆证等若干人。所著内外集黄溍为叙。
