The transgressive systems tract of the continental sepquences in the Biyang fault depression as a lacustrine basin is dominated by a retrogradational fan delta.
泌阳断陷湖盆陆相层序水进体系域以退积型扇三角洲为其沉积主体 ,靠近构造枢纽的陡坡带边缘 ,冲积扇相域越来越窄 ,而向盆内则由滨浅湖逐渐过渡为半深湖。

According to the facies migration character and superimposed style of systems tract in reference well of Biyang fault depression, the terrigenous sequence in Shuanghe Zhaoao area can be derived into two types (type Ⅰand Ⅱ).
根据参照井处的沉积相迁移特征及体系域叠置样式,将泌阳断陷陆相层序划归为两种类型(Ⅰ型和Ⅱ型)。

The upper member of Eh 3 of Biyang fault-depression includes three terrigenous sequences(S4,S5 and S6).
泌阳断陷下第三系核三上 段可识别出三个层序 (S4、S5和S6) ,除S6顶界为沉积间断面 (即陆上暴露面 )外 ,其它层序界面皆为沉积相不连续面 ,测井曲线上显示电性突变特征。

Biyang fault-depression experienced three evolutional phases: pullapart during Mesozoic, rift during Paleogene, and downwarping in Neogene.
泌阳断陷历经中生代小型拉分盆地、早第三纪断陷盆地和晚第三纪坳陷盆地等三个盆地原型的演化、叠合过程,形成了三个盆地充填序列及其所对应的三个构造层序,其界面皆为区域性构造不整合面;沉积总体样式分别为冲积扇—洪水漫湖沉积体系组合、冲积扇—扇三角洲—湖泊—三角洲沉积体系组合、冲积平原—砂泥坪滨浅湖沉积体系组合。

The basin-forming history in Biyang fault-depression consists of three evolution stages:initial rift(K2),main rift(E) and downwarp(N).
泌阳断陷成盆史经历了晚白垩世初始断陷期、早第三纪主断陷期和晚第三纪拗陷期三个发展时期,主断陷期是泌阳断陷发生、发展的主要成盆期,可进一步划分为强烈断陷、稳定断陷、断陷消亡3个发展阶段。

断陷盆地
指断块构造中的沉降地块,又称地堑盆地。它的外形受断层线控制,多呈狭长条状。盆地的边缘由断层崖组成,坡度陡峻,边线一般为断层线。随着时间的推移,在断陷盆地中充填着从山地剥蚀下来的沉积物,其上或者积水形成湖泊(如贝加尔湖、滇池),或者因河流的堆积作用而被河流的冲积物所填充,形成被群山环绕的冲积、湖积、洪积平原。如太行山中的山间盆地和地堑谷中发育着的冲积洪积平原。低于海平面的断陷盆地被称为大陆洼地。
