Some organic reactions mediated by low valent vanadium reagents and their applications in organic synthesis are reviewed with an emphasis on the carbon-carbon bond formation reactions such as reductive coupling of alkyl halides, reductive coupling of aldehydes and ketones, deoxygenative alkylation and deoxygenative coupling of carbonyl compounds.

This paper proposed a convenient way for producing disulfides,along which disulfides can be readily prepared in moderate to good yields via the reduction of alkylthiocyanates by the low valent titanium reagent in THF at 0℃.
