      锝、钷、砹和钫四种放射性元素在历史上的别称。自元素周期律发现至20世纪20年代末,由第1号元素氢到第92号元素铀构成的元素周期表中,只剩下四个空位未被填充──亦即43 (锝)、61(钷)、85(砹)和87(钫)号四种元素还未发现。当时人们称这四种元素为空位元素。
