    原油经减压蒸馏所得的残余油。又称减压渣油。有时将从常压蒸馏塔底所得的重油称为常压渣油。色黑粘稠,常温下呈半固体状。其性质与原油性质有关。在石油炼厂中,渣油常用于加工制取石油焦、残渣润滑油、石油沥青等产品,或作为裂化原料。在石油化工生产中,渣油可通过部分氧化法生产合成气或氢气,或作为蓄热炉裂解制乙烯的原料。渣油另一重要用途是用作燃料油。
