利用氦的蒸气压与温度的对应关系作为低温的温度标准。由国际计量委员会的温度咨询委员会的多年工作以及各国计量部门的协议通过,在国际上一致应用的1990国际温标,ITS-90规定了,在0.65~5.0K的温区由3He和4He蒸气压与温度T的关系来定义,其T-P关系由下式决定:
